I guess we all -- or most of us -- anyway figured Barry would get resigned. The question is why. His defense last season was terrible. His running was weak. There were incredible holes in his swing. But $16 million so Giants fans can watch him attempt -- and I repeat -- attempt to break the home run record? What if he doesn't make it and falls just short -- do the Giants pay big for another season?
The fact is they should have let him go somewhere else. He is not the player he was. He is a liability, not an asset.
I'm afraid it's gonna be a long long season.
